Original British Napoleonic Wooden Carving of a British Naval Officer’s Family Coat of Arms - Circa 1780 - 2800 Spade Grip Assembly Central Asia and IndiaOriginal Item: One of a Kind. Beautifully executed this 10" x 7" quality wooden carving depicts the coat of arms and family motto at the bottom : COURAGE, ET ESPERANCE (Courage, and hope). The arms themselves display three anchors and three scallop shells on a chevron, beneath a large seabird holding yet another anchor. Totally unresearched, this makes a great project for any historian.
